Geocache Description:

In the late 1890s my 2nd Great Grandfather had a heart attack and passed away at the young age of 33, leaving behind a wife and 5 children. His descendants created a small monument at the place where he died. I wanted to put a cache here to share that monument with others.

James Franklin Prince and his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Redd were born and lived their entire lives in the small town of New Harmony, Utah. Many of their descendants have done the same. My parents live in this town, and I visit here regularly. So far, Baad Data has been the only one to leave any caches in New Harmony. I’ve enjoyed her caches so this is also a chance to give her a good cache close to home.
There are several ways to get to this cache. We started on the road where Bottom’s Up is at, and headed up the hill from there. At first glance, the sign next to the gate seems to say that going through the gate is trespassing, but a close look shows the gate leads into a National Forest, and the No Trespassing sign applies to the property to the south, make sure to close the gate. This is definitely a rough road, and a passenger car WILL NOT suffice. I used a Jeep, and saw some dirt bikers and ATVs up here as well. You probably should think twice before tackling this if it's been raining as the mud can be quite treacherous. There are come really nice views of the New Harmony valley on the way up here, so make sure to enjoy the scenery.
This is a three stage cache. The first stage is about a third of a mile from the monument. The second stage is near the monument, but not on it, and the third stage is the cache and is within a few hundred feet of the monument. The cache is a large (2 Gallon) plastic container with various goodies.
