Pilgrims Trail Faaberg Traditional Cache

A cache in an interesting area, distance from parking 700 m.

Cachen ligger ved Pilgrimsleden der den gamle Jørstadgården lå, omlag 600 m øst for Fåberg kirke ved riksveg 255. (Se kartet under) .
Parkering ved Fåberg kirke. Stien starter på den andre siden av veien (se bildet til høyre). På den aktuelle strekning av stien følger Pilgrimsleden Fåberg Kultursti.
Fåberg kultursti går gjennom gammelt kulturlandskap og det anbefales også å ta med seg cachen Steps of stone. Området er frodig og vegetasjonen inneholder arter som ikke er så vanlige i distriktet. På vei til cachen passeres også en gravhaug.

English: Due to road construction work the description does not fit at the moment. From the parking at Fåberg church, walk north about a 100 meters, then turn to the right and up to the houses. There you will find the beginning of the trail.

The cache is located by the Pilgrim Trail (Pilgrimsleden) where the old Jørstad farm was once situated, some 600 metres east of Fåberg Church on National Route 255. (Ref. map above) .

Parking by Fåberg Church. The Pilgrim Trail starts on the other side of the roas (Ref. picture above). On this stretch of the Trail it runs together with the Fåberg Culture Path.

The Trail / Path runs through an area that has been farmed in one way or another sinde times ancient and it is recommended to also visit the cache Steps of stone in order to see more of the area. The area is very fertile and the vegatation holds species that are not common in the area. On your way to the cache you will also pass an old burial mound.

The cachen is a plastic box of the Airproof make, size 1 litre (about 11 x 18 x 6 cm), wrapped in a dark plastic bag. The cache is not directly visible, study the spoiler pictures. It holds a log and pencil, stashnote and some items for trading and a little gift for the FTF.

Rugged footwear is recommended, especially under wet conditions.
Warning for city slickers: The Trail/Path crosses a wooded area used or pasture, here real cows and calves may appear. They only look aggressive.
