Steps of stone Traditional Cache

Fra Pilgrimsleden fra Fåberg kirke går det - omtrent midtveis mellom søndre Jørstad og hovedveien fra Dalsvingen - en sti ned i østlige retning. På denne stien ble det bygd ei steintrapp omkring 1890 for å gjøre stien til tettstedet Fåberg lettere å gå. Cachen ligger ved toppen av denne trappa på innsiden. 

Det anbefales å parkere ved Fåberg kirke (da kan du få med deg cachen Pilgrims Trail Faaberg på vegen) og gå så Pilgrimsleden/Kulturstien til du ser et skilt med teksten "Steintrappa", da tar du stien ned til høyre.

Avstanden fra Fåberg kirke til cachen er omlag 2 km. (Se kartet under) .

På den aktuelle strekning av stien følger Pilgrimsleden Fåberg Kultursti og går gjennom gammelt kulturlandskap. Området er frodig og vegetasjonen inneholder arter som ikke er så vanlige i distriktet. Langs stien er det mange interessante opplysningsskilt.

Adkomst er også mulig fra øst, denne er kortere og brattere og parkering er vanskelig.

Cachen er en sveitsisk kvalitets plastboks, størrelse 0.8 liter (omlag 6 x 12 x 11 cm), innpakket i en mørk plastikkpose. Cachen er ikke direkte synlig, se spoilerbildene. Den inneholder logg, stashnote og en del bytteting, samt en liten gave til FTF.

Skikkelig forttøy anbefales, særlig i vått vær.
Koordinatene er tatt før det var skikkelig med løv på trærne. GPSr-en din vil trolig ha vanskeligere forhold når det er løv.

This is were you leave the Pilgrim Trail / Culture Path to reach the Step of stones when coming from Fåberg Church.

From the Pilgrims Trail (Pilgrimsleden) starting at Fåberg church there branches off a path det - about midway between Søndre Jørstad farm and the public road to the north - a path down to the east. On this path it was around 1890 constructed a fligth of stone steps to facilitate the walking to the community around the railway station at Fåberg. The cache is located close to the top of these "Steps of stone" on the inner side. 

It is recommended to park by Fåberg Church (On the way you can then also log the cache "Pilgrims Trail Fåberg" Pilgrims Trail )and then follow the Pilgrims Trail/Culture Path until you see a sign reading "Steintrappa". From here you follow the path down to the right. The distance from Fåberg church to the cache is about 2 km. (Ref. map above) .

On the leg in question the Pilgrim Trail follows the Fåberg Culture Path and runs through areas that have been in farmed in one way or another from the oldest times. The area is fertile and the vegetation has many species that are not very common in this area. Along the Trail there are a number of signs giving interesting information.

The cache may also be rached from the east, this approach is shorter but steeper and parking is difficult.

The cache is a swiss qulaity plastic box, size 0.8 litres (about 6 x 12 x 11 cm), wrapped in a dark plastic bag . The cache is not directly vivible, study the spiler picture.. It contains a logg and pencil, stashnote and items for swapping, plus a little gift for FTF.

Rugged footwear is recommended, especially under wet conditions.
The co-ordinates were taken when there was almost no foliage. Your GPSr will probably have reduced accuracy under full foliage.
