West Stoke Walkies Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

thekennelat79: The time has come to put this cache in the great hideyhole in the sky.

The "Bridleway" fingerpost sign which formed the first waypoint of the cache has been stolen, and there is no other nearby item to use as a source of information.
The Council responsible for the missing sign say that they have no immediate plans to replace it (despite their legal responsibility to do so).

Thankyou to all those who have taken the trouble to trudge up the hill and find the cache.
I hope that you enjoyed the walk and the fabulous views from the top.

Geocache Description:

A pleasant stroll away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The cache site provides excellent views of the Hampshire and West Sussex coastal areas. Binoculars and a map could well come in useful. On a clear day, you can see from the New Forest in the west to Brighton in the east.

PLEASE NOTE

On 30th March 2008, the cache was moved a short distance due to Muggle action and agricultural work.
The details below point to the new location and any earlier print-outs of the cache page will be incorrect.

Ample off-road parking is available at the eastern end of West Stoke village.
Here you will find a wooden signpost at
N 50 52 113 000 48 881 W.

Carefully count the number of letters carved on one side of the signpost.
Call this number A

To your present Northings, add 38 times A,
then add another 9

To your present Westings, add 12 times A ,
then add another 7

If your sums are correct then you will now have a location between 0.6 and 0.7 miles away where you can find the cache.

For those of an energetic nature, it is possible to incorporate this cache with
Yew (W. Sussex) GC7FE0 and
Sheepdogs are Clever at Rounding up Things GC18QJH
and make a circular walk.
