This cache will give you a chance to explore some of Townsville's history.
Follow Cape Pallarenda Road to the old Quarantine Station. If you visit the area during the week you will have the oppurtunity to look at the historical display on show at the quarantine museum.
There are various tracks to explore but on this occassion you need to take the Shelly Cove track (1km). This scenic track follows the coastline and will take you past a few abandoned World War II gun emplacements as well as giving you sweeping views of Townsville and Magnetic Island.
The area is also a popular spot with the local fishermen so be very aware of muggle activity.

The first time find of this cache was Map Monkey and he said "Found at 0645 after a beautiful sunrise stroll along the beach. Great piece of history i must agree. A nice easy stroll to a well placed cache. Unfortunately we couldn't wait until 10am for the museum to open this trip, though will be back shortly and take the tour.Took nothing, left some items.....Thanks for the early morning walk, and my first FTF for the day."
