Waddle Walk to the Water Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Donald, Daisy and Kids: well after thinking long and hard we have finally decided to archive this cache as there is another one placed nearby (higher and drier, out of the flood range at the start of the waddle) and the area has also changed considerably since the floods last year.

Such a shame that it was confirmed that the cache actually survived the floods, and was still in its original location :'( but was obviously removed by Bundaberg council either during or shortly after their restoration works to GZ.

At least it will free up the area if someone else wants to place another cache there.

Please ensure that you observe and respect the private property on the left as you arrive at the final cache destination (It is clearly defined by a sign and fence).

There is a good size car park with Swings, Electric BBQ's and flushing toilets located at the park where you should start out from (unless you are going by water).

This is usually a fairly easy walk, however it may have slight overgrowth over parts of the track at certain times of the year. The track is still always obvious. It is NOT a difficult walk and can be completed easily with young geokiddies (prams and wheelchairs not accessible unless someone can carry them down a few stairs)

Our GPS had 4Mtrs accuracy on the day of placing this cache (our first).

For some good excercise and pleasant scenery take a waddle down Sharon's track. Rest at the "lookout" and take in some fresh air (and maybe a fish or 2) Find our cache before heading back for a barbeque and play on the swings.

This cache is also accessable by water... ****************************************
There are 2 good launching spots which we are familiar with.
South side (from Bundy) at Sandy Hook Ski Club boat ramps off Branyan Drive:
S 24 53.850 E 152 16.365
or
North side from Rustic Drive at Sharon:
S 24 53.730 E 152 16.615

DO NOT LAUNCH FROM LYONS PARK BOAT RAMP IN BUNDY. THERE IS A LARGE CONCRETE BARRAGE AT S:24.53.212, E:152.17.411
WHICH YOU CAN NOT PASS IN A BOAT
