Changing Channels Traditional Cache
palmetto: As there's been no response to my earlier log, I'm archiving this listing.
If you want the cache unarchived, this may be possible in the very near future, if it meets the current listing guidelines. It will not be unarchived if I both disabled and archive it.

"Changing Channels" is about the Hillsborough River. If you travel by canoe, look for the upstream place where the river course does not match the map. There are no trails near the cache, but there are several options for moderate bushwhacks of about 0.4 miles. Contact me directly is you want a map of the area including the Hillsborough river course and the access roads that are closest.
Hiking directions (only suitable in dry season)
Enter Flatwoods Park Main Entrance off Morris Bridge Rd south of Cross Creek Blvd. Park at N28° 6.915' W82° 18.977'(the Y intersection where the paved loop starts)
Walk to Access Rd that starts at N28° 6.259' W82° 19.791'
Leave the access Rd at N28° 5.943' W82° 19.737'. Bushwhack at a bearing of 177 degrees 0.4 miles
We also followed an Access Rd that starts at N28° 6.774' W82° 19.325'and dead ends at N28° 6.437' W82° 19.401'. Bushwhack 0.4 miles at 77 degrees.
Boating directions.
Park at the Morris Bridge Boat Ramp. N28° 5.889' W82° 18.720'travel down river to the new channel. Look for the first spot where there is a change in the river direction that does not match the USGS maps. There are good places to tie up your boat. The old channel has water even in dry times, at least for a short way.
For a longer paddle, start at the Trout Creek boat ramp N28° 5.256' W82° 20.951' and paddle upstream. Look for the upper divide where the new channel split from the old channel (not the lower one).
Canoe Escape is a company that will provide canoe equipment, pickup and drop off in this area.
