The Mighty Shark: Went for a maintenance visit today but sadly the cache was missing [:(] so after being in place for 15 years I think it's time to put this one to bed.

Thank you to all who came to visit.

Geocache Description:

PLEASE NOTE :- on 8/4/07 this cache will be upgraded from a micro to a small cache suitable for small swaps, small TB's & coins

This cache is located in the village of Tal-y-bont and takes in part of a favourite walk of mine which I have Been doing since the age of about 11. I spend a lot of time in this area hence the title of the cache.

There is ample parking for this one, which can be found at either N52.46.527 W004.05.521 or N52.46.523 W004.05.442
Which ever location you chose you will need to walk up the side of the Inn (see photo 1)

Tree cover is very heavy and the signal can be very weak but so long as you stick to the path and keep the river to your right then you can’t go far wrong.

This one is not buggy or wheelchair friendly and if you have kiddy cachers with you then please take care as the path runs right along the side of the river in places.

As the signal can be poor and the cache is small I have decided to add a few clues together with a few photos to give you a little extra help.
Follow the path until just after the top of the steps the track then splits. Take the track to the right and keep going until you see the large fallen tree below. (Photo 2) once you get level with the tree there is a smaller track which heads down to the water (Photo 3). Take this track but take care not to slip.
Once you get to the bottom of the slope you won’t be far away.

If you need the final clue take a look at (photo 4) which is taken with the cache close by but it’s not hidden anywhere in this picture.

When you do find the cache you will notice that it is tucked away sitting on a slight ledge which helps keep it in place so can you please ensure it's put back on this ledge to stop it from falling.
Can you also please make sure it's covered as it can be seen if left uncovered.

Finally if you decide to stop off at the watering hole on the way back for refreshments and maybe a bite to eat, I can recommend the steak pie

Now that the Micro cache has been replaced for a larger one I have added a new log book but also added in the cache is the log sheet with the list of all the cachers who found the original cache.

Well that's all there is to it, so good luck and happy hunting...........
