Geocache Description:

Small cache in part of Eastwood Park off of Springfield Pike.

I strongly advise against putting travel items in this cache. I can do battle with the anti-geocaching muggle targeting the cache forever as far as the container is concerned but I have no option but to concede defeat to the cretin in regard to its contents.

Now then...

This is one of the first parks I found out about when I first moved to the area, long ago. We brought our daughter to it several times when she was younger. I used to drop in all by myself when I worked nearby. I was originally going to call this "Don't feed the ducks" but then I considered that that would be a totally dumb thing for me to say. I like feeding ducks. I don't want to be the one discouraging people from doing it. I don't even know if there's any rule against feeding them. (But I don't know that there isn't!) So, since I quite often see ducks here, I still worked them into the name.

Kenny, of Five Rivers Metro Parks, said it was okay to put the cache here, and Kelly said it was okay for him to say that. (Five Rivers permit # GO3388.17.) Please only go for the cache when the park is open: 8 am - 10 pm, 1 April to 31 October, and 8 - 8, 1 November to 31 March. Please stay on designated trails and follow all park rules. (Although there might not be what looks like a bona fide "trail" to the cache, there is an allowed and what should be obvious path to it.)

Well, if it wasn't for one minor sticky point, I'd be closer to done rambling. I like this park. (It has ducks and neat arched bridges to cross and geocaches other than this one.) Ducks like this park. Bugs like this park. Kids of all ages like this park. However, my GPS receiver seems to hate this park, or maybe vice versa. The coordinates are as good as I can get them. They, however, don't even approximate perfect. That might be a major problem if there was a myriad of places where the cache might be within the coordinates' "accuracy circle." But that situation doesn't appear to exist in this case. Nevertheless, I gave it 1.5 stars instead of the 1 that I would've otherwise chosen. (And then I bumped them up later when I moved the cache.)

Residents of the area may not likely have a problem finding where to park. However, having had enough "interesting experiences" in places that I'm not familiar with, here are some parking coordinates in case they're of help to anyone: N39° 46.793' x W084° 08.287'.

The cache was moved to a new location on 6 September 2010. Except for possibly when the ground is slippery due to weather, the nearby water isn't a terribly big threat, but you still may want to be careful, especially if you have very young kids with you.

Please put it back as you found it, so that it is not visible from any angle that a human could get to.
