Geocache Description:

We really loved the original Picket Mt. cache placed by Ironworker and Pockets back in 2003. Sadly, it is gone, but all is not lost... The new cache is bigger, stronger, and able to withstand harsh winters and muggles in a single bound!

Parking is available off of Mann Road at the wildlife sign or at the end of Picket Mountain Road, with straight line distances of .9 and .6 miles, respectively. The Mann Road trail gives you more open-air views as you ascend but the trail is more obscure, whereas the trail off Picket Mountain Road is easy to follow but mostly wooded until you get to the summit.

This cache has been placed with permission of two separate landowners that own the mountaintop and one of the trails to the top. They have specifically stated that no ATV's are allowed on the mountain, and that people should be respectful and stay on the trails, no campfires, etc. There is a delicate ecosystem of moss and lichens at the top and foot traffic is damaging to them, so please try to watch your step.

The cache has been carefully placed with this in mind; no need to turn over rocks looking for it! You are looking for a large ammo can with plenty of room inside for all sorts of trade items. Enjoy the hike, enjoy the views, and enjoy the cache!
