Juli 2006: Wal-Mart wird verkauft, da wird ein neuer Name fällig! Jetzt ist es ein "Ex-Wally"
Die US-Kette Wal-Mart zieht sich wieder aus Deutschland zurück. Das Unternehmen teilte mit, die 85 Selbstbedienungs-Warenhäuser gingen an den größten deutschen Handelskonzern, die Düsseldorfer Metro. Die Standorte sollen künftig unter dem Namen "Real" betrieben werden. Wal-Mart ist der weltweit größte Einzelhändler. Seine deutschen Häuser meldeten im vergangenen Jahr zwar einen Umsatz von zwei Milliarden Euro, dennoch gelang es den Amerikanern hier nie, Profit zu machen.
