Geocache Description:

An easy cache to access to bicycle, with a short steep climb on foot at the end. Superb views from the cache site.

You can access this cache from Contin, Rogie Falls, Garve or Heights of Fodderty. The best approach is by bicycle from the forestry car park at Contin. A map will be helpful, but not vital.

Use your GPS, your map if you have one, and your head to make your way on forestry tracks to N57.36.479 W004.37.059 - at which point the track that you are on terminates. Leave your bicycle at this point and cross the small stream in front of you before heading straight uphill through fairly open pine forest until you emerge above the tree line. From there follow your GPS to the cache site. The cache is under an obvious slab of rock with a small birch tree growing beside it.

While there enjoy the superb views east, and having got that far you may as well also go on up to the top of Carn Fearna where the views in all directions are even better.

One of the less well visited areas within easy reach of Inverness and East Ross. Well worth the effort.
