Geocache Description:

Herrestads kyrka utanför Vadstena är troligen Sveriges äldsta kyrka. Långhuset byggdes 1108-1112 och tornet tillkom runt 1200. Den övre delan av tornet har byggsts om och till under åren, men långhuset är likadant som när det byggdes för 900 år sedan.
Kyrkan är öppen för besökare. Om dörren är låst brukar nyckeln ligga i skåpet till vänster om dörren.

The church at Herrestad is probably the oldest in Sweden. The nave was built 1108-1112 and the tower around the year 1200.
The church is open to visitors. If the door is locked you will most likely find the key in the cupboard beside the door.
