Geocache Description:

This cache is dedicated to QMom, who on May 25th became a US Citizen by successfully completing her tests. On June 5th we are going to her Naturalization Oath Ceremony which makes it official. (I guess she's gonna stay.)

!!!! THE ABOVE COORDINATES ARE FOR PARKING ONLY !!!!

Part of becoming a US Citizen (along with the $400 application fee!) were verbal and written tests on US Government and our history. We've chosen a few of the questions from her workbook and have listed them here. Your assignment, should you accept, is to test your knowledge of our history and then, if done correctly, find our special cache. - (Try to answer the questions before googling to verify. Then in your log you can fess up to how many you got right without looking.)

2. When was the Declaration of Independence adopted? (month / day / year) A___ / B___ / C___ D___ E___ F___
3. What Immigration and Naturalization Service form is used to apply to become a naturalized citizen? A___ B___ C___
4. In what year was the Constitution drafted? A___ B___ C___ D___

To get the coordinates you need to answer the above questions and do the following little bit of math:
The North coordinate is given as "ab degrees cd.efg" where:
a = 7A
b = 10A – 12A – 1A
c = 8A
d = 1A
e = 6A
f = 2B + 2C
g = 7C

The West coordinate is given as "hij degrees kl.mno" where:
h = 3B
i = 4D
j = 7B
k = 5C – 11A – 11B
l = 8B – 4A
m = 3A – 3C – 8A
n = 4C
o = 2E– 2F

This is an area off Oak Hill Road. These are public trails on private property maintained by the town of Williston. This cache is very similar to our "Hike and Seek" which is also in this area. If you haven't been here yet, you'll see we set them up to be done together. The trail starts at the parking area given below and follows the edge of the field until you enter the woods. As you get back in the woods, you will see the tubing for the sugar house located below in the field. No part of the cache is located anywhere near a tree that has been tapped. We have received permission from the land owner to place the cache here. He requested only that the small parking area, coords given below, is used to access the trails and do not use the road leading to the sugar house. There is a nice bench to rest between doing the caches.
