Geocache Description:

A walk through the streets of Fairport, along the canal, and a couple of cemetaries.

This cache will take you through the streets of Fairport, much like the original Frolic in Fairport did.  That cache was archived last year when the owner moved out of the area.  I have kept some of  the same waypoints, and made a bit of a twist.  Rather than enter coordinates into your GPS,  each part of this cache is an offset from your previous location with a direction.   For the most part you will be on sidewalks and paths the entire time, so use common sense if something seems "off" when I tell you to make a turn.

Posted coordinates are for parking near the first waypoint. You can choose to walk or drive between the waypoints, but they really aren't that far apart so I suggest walking especially if the Fairport Canal Days is going on.
  • From the parking location, walk 34 meters due North to a plaque (there are two plaques ... use the larger).   This is point A.  What is the larger of the two numbers on the plaque?
  • From A, walk 210 meters due East until you get to a corner.  This is point B.   On this corner is my church on the South side of the main road (well, I don't own it or anything like that).  Walk around the back of the buildingand find a cornerstone with a date.  What year was the addition built?
  • From B, walk 177 meters due East until you get to a busy corner.   Go south from here,  until you are 293 meters from B.  Head East again from here until you are near the entrance.   Just  inside the entrance, when you are 529 meters from B, you will see a soldier's monument.   This is point C.   What year was this monument erected?
  • From C, walk 291 meters West until you get to the main road, then walk 247 meters North, then 343 meters East.  This is point D.  On the sign inside the cemetery note the year it was established.
  • From D, walk 343 meters West, then North until you are 494 meters from D.  Go down the stairs, and go 50 meters East.  Call this point E.  How many letters in the first two words of the dessert place are there?
  • From E, walk 133 meters East until you find an establishment that caters to somebody like myself that likes a good assortment of beers. This is point F  What year was it established?
  • Go back towards the water and walk West on the path until you are 606 meters from F.  Count the large rocks on the water side of the path.   How many rocks are there?

Final coords are:
N43 0a.bcd, W77 26.ef

where:
a = last digit in number found at A
b = last digit in number found at B + 5
c = last digit in number found at C - 3
d = last digit in number found at D
e = last digit in number calculated at E - 3
f = (number of rocks * last number at F) - 10

("f" gives you two digits)
You are looking for a lock-n-lock container.   The container has a lammy for the FTF, a ChileHead gold coin, a glass chile pepper ornament, and a couple other trinkets.
