Geocache Description:

This is a small geocache containing logbook and small items

THE ABOVE COORDINATES ARE NOT EXACT FOR THIS CACHE! Please read below

This cache is hidden in a cemetery where many family and friends are laid to rest.

The particular grave these coordinates lead you to is of a baby girl that died the same day that she was born who would have been a year older than myself and shares the name of my eldest daughter.

She was born without a skull and doctors at the time told her parents that this condition would affect any female babies that they might have. For many years they decided to not have children in fear that it would happen again. They both loved kids and spent much time spoiling nieces and nephews.

Several years later they decided to try again and were overjoyed to discover that this baby was male and not in danger of having the problems reoccur. It was discussed with doctors that new technology would give some hope of survival if they were to have another girl with the same problem. They went on to have three more girls none of which were born with the condition that she had.

It is so sad knowing that they had to go that many years without the kids they longed for because doctors at that time believed that the condition would happen in any female baby that they might conceive.

This girl is buried next to her baby uncle that died a day after he was born. They are both next to the headstone where grandparents and his parents will someday be buried.

When my kids went to the cemetery to hide the geocache they were amazed that there were so many people’s headstones there that they knew. What really shocked them though is that many of the people they knew who had headstones are still living. My oldest daughter who has the same name as the headstone coordinates said that was a bit creepy. LOL

To find the geocache subtract 1935 from year of birth and death on the headstone at the coordinates given to get the number of paces to take then and add 295 to the number of paces and this is the heading in which you will walk.
