A cache with a view
There are a couple of ways to get to this cache. When I placed the cache I started from the Lac Le Jeune side up the road past the campground. From the Fred Lake/Ross Moore lake road at waypoint 50 29.387 120 27.950 (trail location marker 32) I mountain biked up the "rustler" trail toward trail location marker 29. At waypoint 50 29.678 122 27.886 (before you reach marker 29) there is a side trail leading around the ridge. Follow this trail about 150 meters
to 50 29.613 120 27.799 where you will find a trail that starts up the hill. Look for yellow flagging tape! The trail starts a little overgrown but becomes a well defined animal trail to the top of the hill. The trail is steep at
this point. At 50 29.682 120 27.715 look for a trail on the right - and yellow or pink flagging tape. You should come out at the top at 50 29.642 120 27.661
I suggest you mark waypoints along the way.
You can also come from the old dump/burn site - a 4x4 trail starts at 50 29.372 120 27.564. It starts easy but gets narrow, rocky and steep. This trail meets the X-Country ski trail.
For a longer (~4.5 km)
but more defined and better trails start at the Stake Lake cross
country ski club and follow the trails to the lookout hut. See this
