Geocache Description:

Located along the former Peterborough to Lakefield spur, the trail is now a groomed, hard packed gravel path allowing easy navigation.

This is my first attempt at placing a cache, so I hope everyone enjoys!

You will hike along the old Lakefield spur railway line, just North of Trent University.
It has been converted into a hiking / biking trail, and has a crushed limestone screen surface.

The container is a spaghetti jar (hence the cache name) :) with a gold metal screw-on lid.

At time of placement, it holds:
Log book, pencil, SSFC firefighting pen, toy fire truck, RCAF sticker and a little baseball playing Bert figure.

Stage 1:
Start off by getting to the parking area.
You can bike to the parking area (about 8km from downtown Ptbo) or drive (there is a little sand area at the side of the road to park in).
The parking lot coordinates, and your start point are:
44° 22.537N
78° 16.948W

Stage 2:
Travel North on the trail until you reach:
44° 22.806N
78° 16.568W

You should see a KM marker to the West side of the trail.
Note the KM value on the trail marker.

Here comes the math... (don't worry, I'm terrible at math, so it's not hard. haha)
To get your next set of coordinates, simply make the two following calculations (remember BEDMAS?). :)

For NORTH:
Take the last three digits of your coordinate (806) and...
806-((km x 2)-4)= answerN

For WEST:
Take the last three digits of your coordinate (568) and...
568+((km x 3)+2) = answerW

So your resulting coordinates will be:
44° 22.answerN
78° 16.answerW

Stage3:
Go to this new set of coordinates.
The cache is hidden here.

NOTE: The hint below contains where to look for the cache, so don't view the hint unless you are really stuck.

I hope everyone enjoyes the search, and getting out on the trail!

Total length from parking lot to cache is approx. 0.9km
