This property is owned by the Nature Conservancy and there are a few activites NOT ALLOWED on Conservancy preserves:
1. Pets (even on a leash, except seeing-dogs);
2. Horseback riding;
3. Bicycles or other off road vehicles;
4. Camping or picnic fires;
5. Rock climbing, rappelling, ice climbing, or spelunking;
6. Fishing or trapping;
7. Hunting (except by permit from The Nature Conservancy;
The preserve is open year round from dawn to dusk with a primitive, unmarked trail.
Do not pick flower, berries, nuts, mushrooms, shells, rocks, or other parts of the natural landscape. Their website is www.Nature.org to see more about the organization.
From Leland turn north on Hemlock Drive 2 miles to Reich Drive for 0.5 mile to the gate. When parking, do not block Reich Drive, park on shoulder of road south of the mailbox.
The Nature Conservancy asked to make sure to clean off your shoes before walking the trail to keep out invasive plants. There will be a boot brush in the near future.
You are looking for a ammo box just off the trail in a very rocky spot. The area has heavy tree cover and in a valley so the GPS had a hard time getting a good coordinate. Please enjoy this great area.
