This cache is on the South end of The Dismal Swamp Canal Trail. This end runs from the Dismal Swamp Boat Ramp to the end of the trail, about 3 miles. There is a short section on this end of the trail you will need to share the road with the rare motorized vehicle. There are still 2 or 3 homes that have retained access along the trail. It is clearly marked and once your south of the barricade there are no motorized vehicles allowed.

One of those things is the dreaded RED RASH!!!! I have scars from poison ivy on my wrist and legs. I've had in the dead of winter as well as summer months. I've had rashes on my legs from other stuff too. Not real sure what that was but at least it didn't last long or itch as much as the red rash of poison. I've finally gotten so I can recognize the viney undergrowth that causes the dreaded red rash.....I think. Hopefully you have too and will not suffer from the affliction. I saw none when we placed this cache. I heard from a friend that spraying Windex on exposed skin after coming in contact with the evil little vine helps prevent the dreaded rash. I've been trying to remember to use it this spring and I've only found a couple spots after one exposure. It even helped after I'd broken out and got rid of it a little faster. I told a doctor friend about it. He doesn't think it very good idea so try it at your own risk. I'm thinking it's worth preventing the dreaded RED RASH!
PLEASE remember, this is a bike/hike/horse trail. NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES beyond the barricades. If you're going down a dirt road you are on a farmers access road and not an access to the trail.
