Geocache Description:

Entrance to the park is free if on foot and a few limited spaces for free parking is available near a park access points. Parking inside the Grounds costs £4.50 per car per day, or free to National Trust Members. The Park gates are open all year from 08:00 hrs and are locked at 20:30 hrs in Summer and 18:00 in winter.

The National Trust has granted permission for this cache. Please follow these few basic rules.....

DO NOT enter the clearly marked Deer sanctuary area, or disturb the deer, or Cattle, in any way. Please keep your dogs on leads and keep to the footpaths at all times. And do not walk into the park at night when gates etc are locked. Do not drive to the cache site as unauthorised vehicles are not permitted to this point.

There is much to see and do in Lyme Park, explore the woods, feed the ducks on the pond, there are excellent kite flying areas, a day is easily spent in the Park, which has toilets, a shop and cafe, and much much more. see (visit link) for more details.

There's a good view from the cache site and you are also likely to see a large variety of wildlife, including the white cattle and red deer.

The Deer may be more visible later in the day, so if you are visiting at that time remember to take your camera.

Some stealth may be required but this is generally a much quieter area of the park.

The cache is a small ammo box.
