This yellow historical restoration of a one room school house is
called the James School and was a typical country school.
The James School was built in 1917 and was in operation until 1948
when it became the Hillside Gospel Mission until 1970. It sat there
for almost twenty year before work began bringing it back to what
it is today, living history. Peek in the windows and you'll see the
school just as it might have been when children filled those seats
reading from their books, the stove in the middle glowing with
warmth, the teacher pacing up and down the rows, and one or two
students day-dreaming out the long row of windows. Just imagine if
those walls could talk, what stories they'd tell. The restoration
of this old school is marvelous and has been filled with furniture
and items of the era. Give the pump a try it works also. The cache
is located behind the school where the children would have waited
of school to open. Once you have located the cache please return it
to the location for others. Make sure you sign the log and enjoy
the location.

This is a series used to remember people, places or events and to
bring you to places that would have otherwise been forgotten.
