Come join us for a fun filled weekend on the lake! This event
will start on Friday, July 14, 2006, and end on Sunday, July 16,
2006. The main meeting will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at
Dreher Island State Recreation Area, shelter #14 from 12:00 pm
until 3:00 pm.
This weekend is designed to give cachers and their families the
opportunity to cache, camp and get out and have fun on Lake Murray.
Every one who has a geo-vessel (boat, jet ski, canoe, etc.) is
invited to bring it and join others for a fun filled weekend of
boating, skiing, wake boarding, tubing, etc. This will also allow
those without geo-vessels to join up with those who do to grab the
lake caches.
There are 10 or so caches in the Recreation Area that are
reachable by land, another just off shore, and a few more out on
the islands in the lake.
Camping is available at Dreher Island or for the more
adventurous, on some of the islands in Lake Murray.
Saturday will be a fun meet-n-greet type meeting so come and
meet fellow cachers from all over the state. As always, raffle
prizes, TBs, etc...are welcome. SCGA steering committee members
will be on hand to speak to anyone one-on-one about the current
status of H3777.
There will also be an announcement conerning the upcoming
Steering Committee elections. The expectations and duties of
Steering Committee members will be available for all those who do
not know, along with a listing of the different regions that South
Carolina is divided up into and the counties that fall into those
regions.
A potluck lunch/barbeque will be held on Saturday, so please
make a note of what you plan to bring.
Please add this cache to your watchlist, then you will
automatically receive updates as additional details become
available.
If you are only coming to the Saturday meeting and plan to get
some of the caches out in the lake, be sure to bring a change of
clothes!
