Geocache Description:

Suggested parking is at the Boat Ramp area off Red Lion Road. Its less than 0.2 miles from there along the trail that runs around the pond. DO NOT TRY TO PARK IN THE CAMPGROUND AREA, IT IS ONLY FOR CAMPERS. The cache is less than 30 feet off the trail.

This cache and the other new cache across the pond mark the return of Geocaching to Lums Ponds. A Geocaching picnic was held 4/25/04 and there were over 11 caches in the park. Caches were requested to be removed on 8/3/04 over concerns of damaging the park. Now there is an official permit process for geocaches in state parks and I was warmly recieved by the park staff. I hope this will be the start of more caches in this large state park.

This should be an eazy find for the large 50 cal. ammo can. Be very careful of poison ivy and stickers.

From March 1 through NovembeR 30 there is park fee of #4/car or $8/car for out of state. Get an annual pass for $27 and enjoy all the state parks for no further cost.

UPDATE 4/21/08 CACHE HAS BEEN RE-PERMITTED AND MOVED 190 FEET TO BE FARTHER FROM CAMPGROUND AND CLOSER TO THE TRAIL
