Geocache Description:


This little town was founded in 1848 and was the first town of any consequence in Amador county.The first gold was discovered here in Dry creek paying up to $100.00 a pan. When word of the gold got out the town grew to about 10,000 with 26 saloons. There are afew old building still standing that are over 130 years old. Today there might be 150 people to the town.
