This cache is resting near one of the prettiest places in the Strawberry Creek Nature Area in Arnold, off of Tenbrook Road. It's close to a bench where I've seen couples and families relaxing. At dusk one day a family was calling an owl - with success. Plenty of deer in the area also.
Now it's your turn to enjoy a nice trail walk to a serene location. From the parking lot continue down the main trail (Strawberry Creek Trail) past the High Wires. Just past the Owl's Bend sign, bear to the right on another trail for a short distance to the cache (200-300 ft). If you continue down that same trail you will come to an intersection with a "POND" sign pointing to the right. If you have time, visit the pond area where there is another bench and cache (GCX6B6). Total time to get to the cache from the parking lot is about 8-10 minutes on an easy trail with a slight incline.
I'll try to keep the cache stocked with maps I've made of the park that show you where you're at and the general area of the other caches in the park. If the map supply runs low, please state so in your web log so I can re-stock it.
Strawberry Creek Nature Area consists of 121 acres purchased by a 1/4 cent sales tax levied many years ago. A loan was taken out by the city of Arnold in the amount of $3 million dollars to purchase this track of land from a developer in 1997 after he came down with cancer. The developer had plans on building 350 single family homes on this site, but the purchase by Arnold now gives you the opportunity to enjoy its primitive beauty. The 7 year loan was paid off in approximately 3 years by the city.
PLEASE COVER THE CACHE WELL (as you found it) AS THERE HAS BEEN SOME MUGGLERS IN THE AREA!!
