Geocache Description:

This is a .50 cal. ammo box is hidden along a section of the Pinhoti Trail east of Trion, GA.

After a gradual 3/4 mile climb from the parking waypoint you'll hit the ridgeline. It's effortless, beautiful hiking down the ridge from there to the cache. The breezes, the views, the wildlife, the flora; all great.

This is an offset cache. The posted coordinates will take you to a terrific resting spot, overlooking the trail and very near the final location. Sit atop the "pinnacle" and catch your breath. There's room for two. Drink some cool water and take in the view.

When you are ready continue the hunt, walk northwest, perpendicular to the ridge (303° mag.), about 70 feet. Watch your step for those last few feet. There you will find the cache... maybe. It's hidden somewhat aggressively. Sorta like "Long Division".

Small note: As required by the USFS for caches hidden in the Chattahoochee National Forest the cache is prominantly labeled as a geocache and the label includes the GCWFG7 waypoint number and the owner's e-mail address. Enjoy!
