Geocache Description:

How does a cache container get muggled and then un-muggled? That is what happened to the original Soccer Fields Forever Cache at Steel Lake Park.

The Soccer Fields Forever Cache went missing in 2005. Having found it before it disappeared I later checked it's old hiding spot and confirmed it was gone. The cache was archived and then, a few months later, a new cache appeared in the park just a short distance away. In the spring of 2006 I was visiting the park and wanted to show a new cacher the great hiding spot of the old cache. To our surprise there was the cache container just sitting peacefully outside of it's hiding spot, resting on the lawn for all to see. The log book was still inside and the contents appeared to be all there as well.

We contacted the owner of the old cache, CameraThyme, and asked if we should return it or place it some where else. CameraThyme agreed to let it find a new home. So in keeping with the original placement, this is a puzzle cache that leads to the final cache container location. Please note that this cache is not in Steel Lake Park.

By late in 2007 the cache that was too close to the original hiding spot in Steel Lake Park had been archived so the cache container was returned to it's home there and a new container was placed for this cache.

At the listed coordinates, which is also the parking area for this cache, you should see a large sign with a blue background and three words in large letters. How many letters in the middle word. That number will be 'A'. Count the letters in the first and third words. The total will be 'B'. Now move to 47 17.A(B-A)(B-A)N and 122 16.A(B-A)(B-A)W.

Count the number of nearby picnic tables and call that 'C'.
Count the number of drinking fountains. Subtract that number plus 1 from 'A' and call the result 'D'.
Count the number of steps and landings on the nearby structure and let that number be 'E'.
Count the number of bolt on climber's holds on the free standing climbing wall next to the main structure and let that number be 'F'.

To check your answer, the sum of A, B, C, D, E and F should equal 42.

The final cache location is at 47 17.ABC N and 122.16.DEF W.

Caches may come and go but Soccer Fields are Forever.
