Geocache Description:

A 2" by 12" black plastic pipe shaped like a 2" by 12" black plastic pipe, roughly.

Tanks a lot now. This was the sight of a tall green water tank from the past but it was torn down recently and replaced by these less appealing short guys. The tank originally supplied water to the Midwick Country Club located 200 yards to the west with it's Olympic sized swimming pool in which young fashion models splashed and cavorted (when cavorting was still PC) and a large club house where the rich and famous rubbed elbows (elbows only, this isn't Brokeback Mountain).
Surrounding the area was a huge golf course where stars like Spencer Tracy, Clark Gable and Curly Howard (my favorite) would shoot a round of golf and later go over to the polo fields on the north side to watch a game of "El Polo Loco" which I guess is playing chicken on horse back.
Midwick was started in the early 1900's and was a huge success in hosting tournaments and political events but started to decline in the 40's when golf wasn't as popular as watching radio on TV. About then a well known bannana baron who owned a well known bannana import company bought the club and tried to keep it running. It was even rumored that he would set up a hot dog cart on one of the fairways and sell food (bannanas?) to the movie stars and politicians just to hang with his homies and hobnob (?) with them.
Unfortunately the club lost a lot of money and he was forced to sell it to a land developer who constructed high priced houses ($7,000 to $10,000, sheesh) and turned it into the suburban forest that you see today, overun with flocks of parrots, squirrels and a pack chihuahuas left over from an overturned pet store delivery horse from about 1914.
The cache should not be hard to locate (I averaged 50 times) and is loaded with a FTF Johny Rockets gift cirtificate plus other fun stuff, take some leave some.
OH, did I mention the word IVY????
I didn't? Good, cause it ain't in that #@*%! stuff.
