Now here is a little history of Addison

At one time Addison was referred to as "Coontown". The name stemmed from the presidential campaign of William Henry Harrison, who was the Whig party candidate. An opponent of Harrison's said that Harrison would be happier "living in a log cabin, skinning coons and drinking hard cider..." What a find suggestion!! Party members thought, and coonskins were nailed to the door frames of the homes of some stalwart party members. Some wore coonskin hats (and drank hard cider???)
