Sorel Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Southerntrekker: Hi There

As the owner has not responded to either my log or my colleague's previous log requesting that they check this cache I am archiving it.

Please note that once the cache has been archived, this can not be undone. This is explained in the Help Center - http://support.groundspeak.com//index.php?pg=kb.page&id=70

You will need to create a new listing, put it back in for review and as long as it meets today's guidelines and no other caches have been published in the area causing a proximity problem, then it will be published.

Regards

Geocache Description:

A simple cache at the most northerly part of the island. DANGEROUS TERRAIN CAUTION IN HEAVY SEAS OR STRONG WINDS, IT CAN BE DANGEROUS TO VENTURE ONTO THE ROCKS AND COULD BE DANGEROUS FOR CHILDREN AND DOGS. PLEASE USE EXTREME CAUTION! NOT RECOMMENDED AT NIGHT!

Sorel point in the parish of St. John is the most northerly headland on the north coast of Jersey & the site of a small lighthouse. This is not the quietest spot on the coast as the biggest quarry on the island is just to the east of Sorel. There are great views from here though, to the north-west is Sark (23km away) and the treacherous Paternoster reef. Left of Sark is Guernsey & looking north on a clear day you can see Alderney on the horizon. Access is easy as a small road runs onto the point (drive north from St Johns church). There is a car park next to the standing stone on the left which is only 350m walk to the cache. There are a few more spaces at the end which are only 130m away. The path drops past the lighthouse & is a bit uneven. The cache is natural looking. Bring your own pen. The cliff-path going west to Devils Hole starts next to the standing stone. CAUTION IN HEAVY SEAS OR STRONG WINDS, IT CAN BE DANGEROUS TO VENTURE ONTO THE ROCKS AND COULD BE DANGEROUS FOR SMALL CHILDREN AND DOGS. PLEASE USE EXTREME CAUTION! NOT RECOMMENDED AT NIGHT!
