Map Heroes Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

geodanimal: My third puzzle cache, almost 19 years old now... But I think it's time to let it go. Aggressive pruning on all the trees nearby has made this location much less hospitable for a cache. And I'm not real keen on changing the puzzle to fit a new location, so... It had a good run!

Geocache Description:

NOTE: The listed coordinates are NOT the position of the cache. You must solve the puzzle below to determine the actual coordinates of the cache.

I decided it was time to produce another puzzle cache. It seems to me that the advent of Google Maps/Earth has made pinpointing the location of caches a great deal easier, and on the whole I suppose that's a good thing. Indeed, on occasion I myself have come to think of those beautiful high resolution aerial photos as being indispensable. Sometimes I can even tell exactly where to look for a cache, and I don't even need to bring my GPSr unit...

But doesn't that take a bit of the fun out of it? Aren't the REAL heroes those who can still find the cache just by following the little pointer on the GPSr? This cache is for everyone who has become somewhat addicted to the wonderful services provided by Google -- your brain will be the most powerful tool you can bring to bear on this problem. Sophisticated mapping software and satellite imagery are NOT necessary to solve this puzzle or find the cache (but they won't hurt, either). All you really need is a bit of simple coding knowledge and an ability to think outside the box. Just set aside some time and take a swing at it.

First, solve the puzzle below:

9:22
6:07
7:15
6:36
9:00
7:44
10:45
9:15
2:30

The solution will form a password which you will need to enter into this encrypted PDF file to reveal the final coordinates. The password is case sensitive, so be sure to use ALL CAPS. If you need an application for viewing PDF files, Adobe Reader is a free download.

If you lived in a different time and under a different flag, you could ask this chap for a hint, and he could signal you about how to proceed. Unfortunately, he died over 200 years ago when he threw himself down a well, so you'll just have to flounder and flail your own way through this one.

If this doesn't seem like much of a hint, rest assured that there are several clues scattered throughout this listing (and perhaps a red herring or two, as well). If my website is down for some reason, and you can't access the pdf file, feel free to mail me via the link in my profile. Good luck, and have fun!
