Do NOT park along interstate to do this cache. Cars
can park in the car parking lot in the truck stop. Trucks park in
the truck parking area. Please DO NOT park
cars in the truck area! There is a access area near the SE
corner of the lot in the side truck parking area. PLEASE make sure
that you properly secure the fence both going in and out. This is a
open range area and the fence keeps the cattle and other wildlife
from getting onto the roads and interstate.
When I first met Snoogans and he gave me the origional container
he fell in love with my little dog Nugget, named so because of his
small size (He's a chuihuahua) and his gold color. He's our little
nugget of love. We named this cache after him. He's also a very
popular travel bug at cache events and when we run into other
geocachers in our travels.
This has always been a intresting cache for me. I am a nature
lover and enjoy watching animals. This location as a natural
watering hole not only for the open range cattle in the area, but
all the wildlife in the area. You never know what kind of life
you'll find here on a given day. The original cache has been
flooded twice due to heavy rains so I have moved it to higher
ground and over a slight ridge to prevent another flooding of this
cache. It should be safe now.
The ground can range from muddy to sunbaked and cracked
depending on recent weather and is always covered with scrub
brush.
The property actually belongs to the Truck Stop according to
local law enforcement, but is open range land meaning that cattle
in the area are not confined to a particular lot of land. Instead,
they are free to roam the country side. The fencing is intended to
keep the cattle and other wildlife from wandering out onto the
freeway or the truck stop parking lot etc. Imagine trying to
explain to your insurance company that you hit a cow in the parking
lot.

This cache is located near a natural watering hole that provides
water to the natural wildlife for miles around. If you see animals
near the cache, please don't disturb them and let them drink their
water and enjoy the scenery. This is a desert environment. They
need the water more than you need the cache. Also remember that
they are wild animals. Treat them with the appropriate respect. As
always, be careful of the natural wildlife when desert caching.
