This cache is located at the site of Thomas Alva Edison’s Menlo Park labs. The curator of the on site Museum gave us permission to place this cache.  If you go to seek it between the hours of 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Tues – Sat, you will be able to visit the museum as well.

To find the cache you will need to gather some info and answer the following questions, all answers can be obtained from signs on the walking trail near the suggested parking.

A –What was one of Edison’s favorite pastimes with his daughter?
       Ride Bicycles = 4, Fly Kites = 1, Cloud Pictures = 3, Read = 2

B – When was Edison Born?
       2/26/1846 = 2, 2/24/1847 = 3, 2/28/1849 = 8, 2/21/1848 = 9

C – Where was the bamboo for light bulbs imported from?
       Pine China = 4, Japan = 7, Philipines = 8, Korea= 6

D – What year did Edison experiment with Electric Trains?
       1878 = 3, 1879 = 4, 1880 = 7, 1881 = 8

E – What was the first commercialized filament made from?
       Golden Rod = 2, Reeds = 4, Bamboo = 7, Carbonized Thread = 8

F – What invention was Edison’s favorite; he often called it “My Baby”?
       Electric Light = 3, Film Projector = 1, Phonograph = 2, Kinetoscope = 4

G – Where did the Edison Train line end?
      Fords = 1, Main Street Edison = 9, Metuchen Country Club = 0, Linden = 2

H – Who was the only of Edison’s children to be born in Menlo Park?
       Thomas Alva Jr. = 7, Marion = 8, William = 3, Charles = 5

I – What street did Edisons band parade on?
      Rt 27 = 4, Tower = 7, Christie = 8, Menlo = 2

J – What did Edison do in the park with his workers during breaks?
      Picnic = 7, Camping = 0, Fishing = 2, Archery = 3

Once you have answered the questions, plug the values of the answers into the following formula:
Final Stage  =   40 AB.CDE      074 FG.HIJ

The cache and the walk should be very Kid friendly with only some very light bushwhacking for the final stage, so we stocked it mostly with toys, as well as a log book and a pen.

Please re-hide the final stage so muggles can't see it to help from being taken again.
