Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the Murkwood Conservation Lands off Rt. 6A in E. Sandwich. Nice trails throughout with views of marsh and ocean. Cache contains the usual supply of trinkets and log book.

79 acres, acquired in 1976 and 1978 by gift and purchase. Along the trails here you can find the rare Indian cucumber and observe an unparalleled panorama of salt marsh, bog and barrier beach, framed by cedar groves, tupelo trees and pines. The topography is essentially level, and several benches are located along the perimeter trail.

The trail is a short loop and worth continuing on after finding the cache, I suggest using the perimeter trail as the center trail is loaded with poison ivy.

Beware of poison ivy, briars, mosquitos and ticks, they are all out there in abundance. Curently the trails are quite wet and I suggest hiking boots and long pants for this cache. The cache is 20 to 30 feet off the trail at which there will be some bushwhacking required.

Maybe if your lucky you'll spy the nearby letterbox while exploring this area, I did!!

Enjoy your visit.
