Traditional cache requiring a 5 minute walk which crosses the Major Jones bridge, the Tongariro river and then follows a walking/cycling track alongside the river.
Updated again May 22nd 2024, previous cache container disappeared, new replacement placed on May 23rd 2024.
New cache contains, Logbook & cache note, 2 rubber bands, small safety pin, old NZ 10C coin, 20C Euro coin, glass cleaning cloth, 2 baggage labels, cork, golf pitch repair tool, noticeboard pin.

Updated August 22 2020, cache replaced today in same location as per coordinates and tips. Welcome to Turangi and the famous Tongariro river. World renowned for its wild trout fishery and other water sport activities. Park and lock at S 38 59.953 E 175 48.752. Walk through the open gateway and cross the river, (see image) while keeping an eye out for the many fishermen who will be chasing that elusive trout (see image). Once over the bridge follow the track to the cache coordinates. When cache replaced on February 23rd 2015 it contained: Log paper. Pencil. Singapore 50c coin. xmas bells, golf tee, etc. Updated April 4th 2018. Cache replaced April 5th, previous cache disappeared. Now contains, 10p piece, small dice, sprung clip, safety pin, NZ 20c old and new, $1 Singapore, 2 buttons, teapot button, hair tie, mini address book, log paper, pen.
