This is a letterbox cache designed for you to enjoy a round-trip
tour of the Bucks Creek Trail. The trail is approximately one mile
long, one-way, and is mostly level terrain. You won't need a GPSr
to find the cache. Just follow these clues and enjoy the views as
you walk along the easy path. The cache container is a cammoed
lock-n-lock box.
Free parking is available at the El Dorado County branch
library. The cache coordinates are for the Bucks Creek trailhead at
the southwest corner of the intersection of Serrano Parkway and
Silva Valley Parkway in El Dorado Hills. Start there and follow
these directions.
1. Start at the trailhead and follow the crushed rock trail.
Almost immediately you'll cross a bridge and turn south. Continue
past the ponds on your right.
2. Cross over a pair of wooden bridges, similar to the first one,
and then one more bridge. Continue south.
3. Continue over another wooden bridge not far away. Enjoy the
beautiful, large oak on your left and the small pond on your right.
Continue down the path as it starts to descend.
4. Take a right at the trail fork. Continue over the two part, flat
metal bridge. Follow the dirt trail in a bend to the left until it
turns to a rocky path.
5. Take the left hand fork in the rocky path. Look almost straight
ahead for the largest pine tree alongside a barbed wire fence. Find
the cache at the base of the tree, under rocks.
