The 58th cache hidden by caughtatwork is a short stroll through memorial gardens at S37 49.815, E144 48.996
Altona Memorial Park was conceived nearly 50 years ago as an open parkland with a choice of commemorative trees, shrubs and gardens or niche walls for cremated remains or lawn graves as a contrast to the traditional cemetery.
The cache you seek is placed sensitively to the occupants and you will not need to walk over any residents to gain access to the cache location.
The actual resting place is not all that serene with the Western Freeway and Princes Highway visible from the hiding place however the traffic drone, while persistent, can be quite soothing.
You will be well out of the view of any casual observers from within the park, but be aware that you can be openly seen from the opposite direction, although no-one will be likely to stop and ask what you're doing.
The Park is open every day of the year:
March to October 8.00am – 6.00pm
October to March 8.00am – 7.00pm
The cache you seek is a 2 litre sistema container that has been disguised somewhat to match the surroundings.
