Details

Teams will be going out on a 2 ish hour car treasure hunt... followed by an early evening meal around 5.30pm to 6pm. Details and full instructions on the day re format of 'treasure hunt' when you arrive.

I would advise teams of 4-5 people by car... Teams of 2 are allowed if you so wish ! The more people the easier it is !

If you wish to form a team please let me know by email giving me your team name and number in team.

For cachers wishing to combine with other cachers either organise between you and let me know or alternativily let me know and I can 'pair' you up.

I would prefer no on the day entries....All teams must be notified to me by 5pm Friday 13th October, however if you turn up, I will try to accomodate you.

Clues ?

For those who have been before you will know the format, otherwise you will be setting out looking for gps co-ordinates.

I will also have some other surprises up my sleave, maybe you may wish to refer to the dycrypt below that might help (or not)

Prizes

I shall be providing a couple of small prize for the overall winners, but in order to cut down on my costs, I would appreciate if every team could bring an item suitable to put in a cache box (between £1 and £2).

These will then be given out as prizes.

Co-ordinates ?

On the day I will provide instructions, questions and full co-ordinates. You do not have to do any pre work before the day.

However,if you wish to save time at midnight on Friday 13th October I shall create a full list of all the waypoints you will need on the treasure hunt on this cache page, so these can be downloaded (or typed into your GPS) on Saturday morning.

By using these I will allow you to program your GPS, but under no circumstances must you use any of the data to pre-plan any route, before you arrive at the pub.

This service is just to allow you to update your GPS, to avoid having to manually type in the co-ords when you arrive at 2pm. PLEASE DO NOT CHEAT

For those attending Hunt & Munch 1 last year, the format will be the same.

Important Instructions ?

Full geocaching rules and regulations apply. As cache/event setter I am not responsible for any problems encountered during the day, including motoring accidents, speeding etc etc.

It is entirely your responsibility if you take part in the event

By setting out to this event, the driver is responsible for any third party action that may arise during the day. I as organiser, am not responsible for any action at all

See notes below re driver

The route could be 40-50 miles so please ensure you have a full tank of petrol as there are not many petrol stations on route.

It might be advisable to bring a paper road map (includes minor roads) and have at least two GPS's in the car.

Please note that Pocket PC's / In car Navigation software etc etc with memory map will be banned on the day !

Map software on GPS's will also be banned

Although there is no way I can enforce these rules, please abide by them and make it a fair 'competition'

Full rules and instructions will be given on the day. First vehicle to depart by 2pm so please be prompt !

Driver ?

The Driver has to apply to all UK driving laws and therefore as such take no part in the treasure hunt (looking at GPS, reading maps, making decisions etc.

He can take instructions from passengers as to which direction to drive in.

He must be in full control of the vehicle and even though the event is time based all speeding laws must be followed, and obviously drive slower if the conditions require.

Co-ordinates must be passed if the road conditions or traffic does not allow safe stopping.

It is the drivers complete responsibility for the event and his passengers

Driving faster than you would for a 'average' day out in the countryside is the drivers responsibility, and I suggest for this event should should not happen.
