I got the idea for setting up this cache while making a visit
here on Fathers Day. It was conceived, created, published and first
found within 8 hours.
In memory of my father, Max, who recently became a fulltime
resident at this cemetery. Max grew up near here and often played
in the surrounding woods and by the creek below the cache, as did
I. He lived here all his life, just short of 90 years. One of his
favorite things to do was to come and feed the ducks. It became a
tradition to bring his children then grandchildren then great
grandchildren to the ponds here to feed the various ducks, sea
gulls, swans and geese including Canadian Geese. The large pond
nearby was his favorite, and the last years of his life he wanted
to come daily. The route of his funeral procession was planned to
circle around the pond and everyone was given bread to toss out of
their vehicle windows to the ducks. It was quite a sight. Max was a
great man, self employed, answered to no one, and lived life the
way he chose to live it. Max was cool!
Bring some bread when you hunt this cache and either take a
moment to stop and feed the ducks, or if you are in a hurry, just
do a drive by toss. I'd also like you to say "Hey you dumb
chickens, eat it!" Then tell the ducks that its from
Max!
It would be great if you take some photos of your wildlife
encounters, you never know what you might see. I've seen a pretty
large turtle sunning at the west end of the pond on the overflow
cover.
I didn't know what to place in the cache to start out so I
put a bunch of coupons for bakeries and bread places around town
LOL. Please feel free to treat this cache as any other. Have fun!
(Max would want it)

THE PARK TO RECORD OR JUST ENJOY THIS NATURAL JEWEL OF OUR

The SQ in the cache name above signifies
Spirit Quest, a project by the Northwest Ohio Geocachers to
distinguish those caches that are set in cemeteries or memorial
gardens. This cache is part of that series created by NWOGeo
members to highlight cemeteries in the area. Please be respectful
of the area, and observe their rules and posted hours which are
typically sunrise to sunset.
