Years ago I noticed this road on the topo maps that ends at the top
edge of some severe cliffs and I thought it would be an Awesome
Spot and it certainly is. Fantastic views for 360 degrees. From
Mount Timpanogas and the major peaks of the Wasatch Front to the
peaks of the Uintah Mountains and then down into the Duchesne River
Valley. You will need a 4wd vehicle with good ground clearance
because the last 6 miles is quite rocky and there is a stream
crossing and lots of puddles to cross. Please keep an eye on little
ones because these are some really serious cliffs. The rock in the
photo above would put DeViDe's Do You Dare cache to shame. I
thought about setting the ammo box out there but I didn't dare!
Thats about a 500 foot straight drop. We're cleaning out the garage
and so I am putting out the gigantic ammo box that Jerrold21 gave
us years ago from Dugway Proving Ground. Theres a bunch of hats and
other leftover stuff we found lying around including our first
Magellan GPS. There is also a new cachunut called ARBY and the
cache log has hints on how to find another new cachunut called
Shackle O'Neal.
Bring your camping gear, there are lots of nice shady places to
pitch a tent. This is a fantastic place to sit in your camp chair
and watch a sunset. There are no facilites so plan on primitive
camping. Mockba, this will be a great winter destination for
you.
