Natuurgebied de Kikbeekbron. Voordat hier in de jaren zestig een
zilverzand groeve ontstond,
stroomde de Kikbeek nog door een uitgestrekt heidelandschap.
Het landschap is echter, in de veertig jaar dat hier de zandwinning
plaatsvond, ingrijpend veranderd.
Er is een enorme krater ontstaan die sinds 2001 onderwerp is van
een groot natuurontwikkelingsplan.
De groeve is omgebouwd tot een schitterend natuurgebied met als
middelpunt een plas van 1km lang en 200m breed.
De route van zo'n 5km is zeer afwisselend voor oog, oor en
benenwagen! De hond mag mee, mits deze is aangelijnd.

- Verrekijker kan handig zijn

WPT1:

Ga met de rug tegen de vijf-stammige berk staan en bepaal de
richting naar de 750 meter verderop gelegen GSM-zendmast.
Rond het aantal graden af op tientallen. De uitkomst is ABC.
ANTWOORD: ABC=300. De zendmast blijkt onlangs te zijn
verwijderd...
Loop verder naar WPT2.
WPT2:

Ga op zoek naar twee grote buizen. Bepaal de woordwaarde van de
letters boven de rechter buis als A=1, B=2, ..., Y=25, Z=26.
De uitkomst is DE.
Ga naar WPT3.

Het brugdek bestaat uit een aantal dwarsliggende planken. Tel het
aantal ZONDER de opstapjes!
Noteer de uitkomst als FG.
Er rest nu nog een pittige wandeling naar de cache! Onderweg zul je
twee keer over een afrastering moeten stappen.
Doe dit bij de daarvoor bedoelde voorzieningen.

Wees aub voorzichtig bij het lichten van de cache. Er kunnen zgn.
'muggles' (niet-geocachers) in de buurt zijn!
Nature reserve 'de Kikbeekbron' (Source of the Kik creek) is still
very young.
The landscape changed dramatically due to the sand extractions that
took place for fourty years.
The huge sand extraction pit that was left, is part of a nature
development project now since 2001.
Recently a lake, 1km long and 200m wide, has formed in the middle
of the reserve.
The cache route of about 5 km in length, will take you through a
scenic landscape with great views.
You can bring your dog, as long as you keep it on a leash.

- A binocular can come handy

With your back towards the 5 stem birch, look for a cellphone tower
which is situated 750m from your location.
Determine the direction in degrees and round the result to the
nearest ten. This is ABC.
ANSWER: ABC=300. The tower has been removed lately.
Walk to WPT2.
WPT2:
N 50°57.[ABC + 294]' - E005°38.[ABC + 108]'
Search for two very large pipes. Determine the word value of the
text above the right pipe as A=1, B=2, ..., Y=25, Z=26.
The result is DE.
Go to WPT3.
WPT3:

E005°38.[D+E][D+E][(2*E)-D]'
The deck of the bridge consists out of some planks. Count them, but
LEAVE OUT the steps at the beginning and far end of the
bridge!
The result is FG.
Now go to the cache! On your way you wil have to step over a
fencing twice.
