Geocache Description:

In wetlands area of More Mesa. Smallish medium camo tupperware cache.

The quickest access to this cache is the trail along Atascadero creek. The trailhead is just past the Horse stables off South Patterson ave. This portion of the More Mesa was purchased by Land Trust of Santa Barbara in 1991 with proposition 70 bond funds and transfered to the County of Santa Barbara. It was formerly known as the "Austin/Andrews Property". In recent years, the County Flood Control District has begun planting native riparian plants there, as part of its mitigation program for flood control maintenance along Atascadero Creek. In spring and early Summer there is three areas of standing water that provides habitat for wetland birds including Red Wing Black birds as well as species of Egrets and Herons.
Original cache contents include; Mini LED flashlight, Shot Glass, USA flag pin, MTD button, stack of round button magnets, Plastic Wahlrus, Colored Beads and an electronic pedometer.
