Geocache Description:

Large, camo painted plastic jar. On More Mesa.

This cache is up in the flat land of More Mesa. From this spot you can often see White Tailed Kites roosting in the Cotton Wood trees in the gulch just to the South. More Mesa include the largest historic roost on the south coast for the White Tailed Kite. See, (visit link) to learn more about White Tailed Kites at More Mesa.
Most of More Mesa is now owned by Sun Oil Company (Sun Mesa, Inc). When T. Wallace More owned the property in 1874, in addition to operating his Wharf, he got quite wealthy mining asphalt near the Southwest corner of the property. In fact, the streets of San Francisco were first paved with asphalt from More's mines. By 1890, 32,000 tons of asphaltum products were shipped away.
Original cache contents include; visor organizer, mini LED flashlight, small C-clamp, water pistol, USA flag pin, "pop-its", micro Tupperware and colorde beads. Be sure to log if you see the Kites!
