Quite a ways down dirt roads - but good dirt roads - any car can do it when it's dry.
This cache is in a badlands-type area. They say getting there is half the fun! You'll be treated to some cool rock formations and then a neat view of some "canyonlands" looking stuff...then finally some more neat formations at the cache site. I decided to go exploring in an area I had never been and I found this area. Hope you enjoy exploring as much as I do.
Rated a 3 because you really need to use your GPS and sense of direction. There are many roads - all good roads - that lead all around this area and they're not marked on the maps. Directions to get to the cache are as follows: Take Exit 53-Church Butte Rd and head South. About 2.6 miles down the road you will come to an intersection - turn left. You'll see a neat view as you head over the crest of the hill. About a mile later turn LEFT at the big tank. You'll be heading North now - pass the first right and take the next right. You'll be heading East again. Follow the road down to another gas well (or compressor station....whatever it is) and turn to the right. This road will take you in front of the cache. Follow your GPS. From a car, you'll have to walk the 450 feet or so. If you're in a high clearence vehicle, keep going and turn left at the fence posts and you can drive across there to within 150 feet.
In all, this is all only about 6 and a half miles from I-80. And in dry weather the roads are good. GOOD LUCK!
