Well this was our first cache, and after getting it water proof, critter proof, wind proof, we needed fire proof..
Yes the cache was damaged, but the contents were saved, we will add them to our next cache... hopefully in this same area. We picked up all stages and scoped out new.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located in an under-utilized park in Montcalm County. It is a four stage cache that covers most of the forest. The terrain rating is three stars mainly because of work going on which includes logging that has been done throughout the park. Parking is available at: N43 20.656 W085 11.017.

The Comden-Towle Forest was donated to the Montcalm Conservation District by Theron and Beautrice Comden in January 1968. The forest is registered as a Conservation Reserve by the Michigan DNR, Est. 1968. This beautiful woodlot is also used as an outdoor classroom. Bring a picnic lunch. A pavilion is on site and there are over two miles of trails (which are kind of hard to see right now with the logging going on), a pond, and plenty of wildlife. Be sure to visit the memorial to Theron Comden located near the pavilion. The cache is a cammoed large pickle jar and original contents included: Keychains, flashlight, pencils, pins and magnets from the Soil Conservation District, girls bracelet/necklace set, magnet picture frame, plus more.
