Geocache Description:

No longer a multi. Easy walk from vehicle to find a peaceful place and a nice view.

Please take time to replace carefully so the next cacher has as much fun as you did.

In 1856 John Warren Curtis deeded three acres to the citizens of Weatherford. Curtis Cemetery has overlooked the city ever since. This is a small peaceful place, even though it is in the middle of town and has the college nearby. In Spring the ground is rich with wildflowers, especially bluebonnets, the least known and best display around.

A haunting sentiment is on the nearby monument of an ancestor:

Remember children as you pass by

As you are now so once was I

As I am now soon you will be

Prepare for death and follow me

Time to meet my grandparents Mildred and Odis Austin. My grandfather was the finest man ever to walk the earth. My beloved grandmother shaped my life. I would be so much less without them.

It’s your turn to introduce us to someone you love. Please sign the name of a loved one you miss.

Thank you for finding this geocache.
