This cache is a micro letterbox - there is a stamp in the cache (which stays with the cache) you will need to bring your own inkpad The Girdlestane is a cup and ring marked stone sitting just at the side of a road to the NE of Letham. It position was used to mark the boundaries between Dunnichen and Rescobie parishes and also between the lands of Dunnichen and Ochterlony (Balmadies). The true story of how the stone came to be there comes from the story of a Carmillie witch who for some reason was flying around with the the stone in her apron. The stone fell as she was performing some spectacular manoeuver and now rests where it landed.
