An ammo can hidden in the newly opened....June 2006...Hidden Mesa Trails of Douglas County, Colorado. The trail system is open from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset. Please respect these hours. The cache is being maintained by a local cacher.
Welcome to the newest Douglas County Open Space! Hidden Mesa Open Space. Enclosed within the open space are four trail systems. Farm Lane is the access from Parker Road and begins at the Hidden Mesa Trailhead. There is parking at N39.24.563, W104.45.741. There is horse trailer parking available here, as well as a picnic area and water. This section of the trail system is 0.5 mile long before it connects to the Cherry Creek Trail. 0.3 mile of the existing Cherry Creek trail is used to connect to Hidden Mesa Trail. Hidden Mesa Trail is 1.4 miles in length and joins the Cherry Creek Trail to The Mesa Rim Loop. Mesa Rim Loop is a total of 1.9 miles that can be accessed by the previously explained trails, or from the Pleasant View Enterance, which is up Castle Oaks Drive, somewhat under construction at this time. The Pleasant View Enterance parking is at N39.24.344, W104.48.183. There is minimal parking here and no services. The cache itself is located along this loop. The entire Hidden Mesa Trails system, round trip is 6.9 miles from the trailhead via the Mesa Rim Loop. Enjoy the views all around your hike here. All trails are open to hikers, horses, mountain bikes and dogs on a leash. The trails are not open to any motorized vehicles. Congratulations to sassydil for First to Find!
