fraygirls: This cache has given people fits over the years, and we officially feel guilty about having such a tough hide taking up nice caching real estate right in the middle of town. The cache was still in place on our latest visit, but in pretty rough shape and buried under considerable leaf litter. Instead of replacing, we're freeing up the area for someone else to place a friendlier hide. Thanks to all who visited over the years, to that bee sting person for not suing us, and to zuni for his vigorous defense!

Geocache Description:

A cache hidden near the Hugh MacRae Nature Trail. The listed coordinates will get you to the best parking, not the cache. You’ll need to decrypt the code if you want to find the cache!

We were digging around in the archives at the downtown library when we found an odd and very old sheet of paper. On the front was a very rough sketch of an eyebrowless smirking woman with long dark hair. She wasn’t all that attractive, but she did seem strangely familiar. We were about to return this item to its proper place when we noticed some strange markings on the back. The head fray whipped out the camera and took a clandestine picture for further study…



After several days of contemplation, we cracked the code. We followed the instructions to the letter (and number) and uncovered a small container full of art supplies! At that moment, we realized the significance of our discovery and knew that we had to share it with our geocaching friends: At last...it’s Leonardo’s Lost Cache!
